Life with the Jones'

Hello Everyone!

Happy After-Labor Day to you all! Most people see Labor Day as the end of summer, but summer has been officially over in our house for a while! And with a season change comes a lot of change in my daily routine. (that is why it has been a month since my last post....sorry about that! LOL)

Dave and Trey are back to school! Trey started first grade this year *tear* and it has been so very bittersweet. He has grow up so much just in the past month from become an official elementary student!


Dave's schedule is always changing every semester so it is always weird getting use to his schedule. But honestly this semester is not that bad. He is only gone 2 nights of the week and he gets home earlier than last semester so that is a huge blessing!


I don't know how many of you all know that we are expecting again, but we are! And we found out were are having another little girl! Her name will be/is AnnaLeigh Marceline Jones! We traditionally give our children their middle names after our family members and she will be named after my husband's grandmother(whom I absolutely adore!!).


I will be back up and running next week with my menu and I am going to be starting some new posts so watch for them!

I want to leave you with some encouraging words from my Father.

"The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy." Psalm 145:8
Thank you Jesus for your mercy and patience!! He is wonderful!

Menu Plan Monday

Hey there!

Well last week's menu went pretty well! I do have one night to carry over to this week, but all in all we had a very smooth week last week in the Jones' household! I am sure it is the calm before the storm! haha..Trey starts school in 2 weeks and Dave starts school in 3 weeks so our summer is at its end :( but it has been a blast! Anyway...back to the menu! haha

Monday- Salads with hot french bread

Tuesday- Lasagna with salad and garlic bread

Wednesday- dinner out :)

Thursday- Chicken Casserole* with Green Beans

Friday- Sloppy Joes and Macaroni and Cheese

Menu Plan Monday!

Hey Everyone!! So I didn't get my menu planned out for last week and it showed greatly in our house!! So in order to reduce chaos and late meals at our home....I am back to planning :)

Monday- Grilled Hamburgers, Scalloped Potatoes, and Buttered Peas

Tuesday- BBQ Pork Chops*, Macaroni and Cheese, and Green Beans

Wednesday- (Grab a quick dinner out :) )

Thursday- Beef & Noodles (Thank you Sister Angie for this wonderful recipe!) and Green Beans

Friday- Chicken Casserole* and Green Beans

Works for Me Wednesday (Saving Time and Money at the Grocery Store!)

Hey Everyone! I hope your week is going well!

I follow this awesome blog called We Are THAT Family (awesome Christian woman!) and she hosts a "blog carnival" called Works-for-Me Wednesday. So I am just going to share something that works for me! haha...I recently have been trying to trim down our budget at the grocery store without losing quality in what I buy. In the past, I would go with a plan in mind of what I was going to cook that week and what all I needed but it seemed like I spent WAY too much money and WAY too much time! (all of the children typically had melt downs and so did Mommy sometimes ;) So I thought to myself I have to figure out a way to get in and out but get everything I need and save money!

Well I found it and it really works! I first start with whatever my budget maybe for the week and then plan my meals out for the week based on that. I then make my shopping list in order of the aisles(I typically shop at Aldis and Walmart so I know their aisles well! haha). I get everything I need when I go. I stay on track budget wise, and I get out within an hour!!(which is fabulous whenever you have 3 little ones and are nauseously pregnant!)

Well this is something that works for me in my diaper filled world! Let me know something that works for you! I love new ideas! (especially if they work for us too:)! )

Menu Plan Monday (actually Tuesday...LOL)

Hey Everybody!!

Well my menu was going to be posted yesterday, but we had a sad loss in our family yesterday, so it got put off until today! Our sweet lovable puppy Marley died very suddenly yesterday. She was playful and happy yesterday morning and then whenever I went back outside to refill her water bowl she was dead! So so sad!! But our children are handling it well! Its amazing how you think you know how your children are going to react to something and they surprise you and react a totally different way! Well on to the menu!



Monday- Subway!! (under the circumstances)

Tuesday- Taco Night & Corn dogs for the kiddos(my children won't eat tacos?!?)

Wednesday- Slow Cooker Pulled Pork BBQ and Onion Strings

Thursday- Out to the Fair!!

Friday- Old-Fashioned Meatloaf*, Mashed Potatoes, and Buttered Peas

Saturday- BBQ Pork Chops*, Cheesy Potatoes, and Green Beans

In Loving Memory of Our Precious Puppy Marley!

Wow! Its been a long time!!

Hello Everybody!!

I have really dropped the ball with my blog! I can't believe I haven't blogged since December haha..I think I have just been living in survival mode with all of these babies (and by the way we have another one on the way for those of you who don't know! haha...not planned obviously but still an enormous blessing!). But I am going to be more committed to some things in my life and this is going to be one of them!

I recently have really felt lead to start this back up for the women out there that may need some encouragement. I know that sometimes life gets kinda hairy and I want my blog to be a place where you can feel relieved that there are people out there like you! hahaha...believe me our house can get hairy with one kid in school and two still in diapers! But what a blessing it is to have the awesome responsibility of being a wife and mother!

So Many Changes!

Hello Everyone!

Wow a lot has changed in the Jones household this year!! I have been thinking a lot about what I want to change in my life in this upcoming year and habits that I need to get rid of. And it has really made me see all of the changes we have went through so I thought I would update all of you!

Well to start off the house that we were trying to buy ended up falling through do to some illegal activity with our financial company! We found out that we weren't going to be able to get the house a week before we had to be out of our apartment!! Yikes! So only by God providing did we find an adorable house to rent for less than what we were paying in our apartment and is actually very very similar to the house we were buying! God's good!! He shows up at the last minute (in our time frame....hahaha) and makes things better than they ever were!!


Then only a couple weeks after we moved we were blessed with our first little girl!! Her name is Emmaline Cathleen Jones and she was born at a perfect 6lbs 3ozs and measured at 18 1/2 inches long! She is so precious! God has truly blessed our family beyond measure!
